Targeted PetCare

Targeted PetCare (TPC), fka Pestell PET Products, previously a division of Pestell Group, based in New Hamburg, Ontario, is a full-line manufacturer of animal litter and bedding products, and co-manufacturer of dental pet treats. TPC distributes its products across the pet specialty, mass merchant, grocery, and club store channels across the U.S. and Canada.

Wind Point closed on the original Pestell Group transaction in June 2018, acquiring the business from serial entrepreneur Don Pestell who founded the company in 1972. Upon Wind Point’s original acquisition, Pestell was comprised of two business units, Pestell Minerals & Ingredients and Pestell Pet Products, with both operating via one location in New Hamburg, Ontario. Under Wind Point’s ownership, the Pestell Group has been separated to form standalone entities, Pestell Nutrition, previously PMI, and Targeted PetCare, previously PET, to better serve respective customer bases, optimize internal operations, and drive focused execution of strategic initiatives.

Wind Point acquired Pestell in partnership with Consumer Packaged Goods veteran Matt Miller who will lead Targeted PetCare as CEO. Previously, Matt served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Big Heart Pet Brands, a producer, distributor and marketer of branded pet products for the United States and Canadian retail markets.
