U.S. Nonwovens Acquires Largest Independent Producer Of Unit Dose Water-Soluble Packaging In North America

Acquisition expands USN’s product portfolio in the laundry and dish detergent markets

Chicago, IL, November 13, 2019 – Wind Point Partners (“Wind Point”) and portfolio company U.S. Nonwovens (“USN”), a leading North American manufacturer of home and personal care products, are pleased to announce that USN has acquired the polyvinyl alcohol (“PVA”) packaging division of Multi-Pack Holdings LLC, a portfolio company of Cameron Holdings Corporation. The PVA business unit will become a division of USN and will transition from doing business as “Multi-Pack Chicago” (“MPC”) to a new name to be determined over the coming months.

Based in the Chicago area, MPC is a leading independent North American producer of unit dose water-soluble packaging. MPC’s manufacturing capabilities support a full range of PVA packaging combinations, including single-chamber and multi-chamber forms containing liquid and powder formulations. MPC’s primary end markets include the retail laundry and dish detergent categories serving a variety of customers.

"The acquisition of MPC fits well with our value creation plan for USN. This investment diversifies our customer base and adds a growing product category, and we are committed to further supporting MPC’s strong commercial growth."

David Stott, Managing Director

Matt Stillings, U.S. Nonwovens CEO, commented, “We are excited to add the MPC team and capabilities to the USN platform.  Unit dose packaging represents a growing form factor in our markets and is being requested by several of our customers. MPC’s culture of innovation resembles the spirit fostered at USN, including unique product development capabilities. We look forward to introducing our customers to a broader portfolio of high-quality products and new packaging formats.”

David Stott, Managing Director at Wind Point Partners, stated, “The acquisition of MPC fits well with our value creation plan for USN. This investment diversifies our customer base and adds a growing product category, and we are committed to further supporting MPC’s strong commercial growth.”

Wind Point acquired U.S. Nonwovens in August of 2019 in partnership with Matt Stillings, who joined the company as CEO, and Chris Sliva, who serves as Non-Executive Chair. In cooperation with Matt, Chris and the USN management team, Wind Point will seek to continue expanding the U.S. Nonwovens platform through a combination of organic growth and innovation, as well as additional complementary acquisitions.
