Hearthside Food Solutions, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, manufactures grain-based food products (including cookies, crackers, granola, granola bars, croutons, cereals, popcorn and snack mixes) for premier food companies. Hearthside has 12 manufacturing facilities, flexible capabilities and long-term relationships with a diversified customer base.

Wind Point acquired Hearthside in April 2009. Our value creation plan includes driving top line growth with a proactive sales strategy, upgrading manufacturing capabilities, and expanding via add-on acquisitions. Under Wind Point’s ownership, Hearthside has completed two transformative acquisitions that more than doubled the size of the business.

Wind Point acquired Hearthside in partnership with CEO Rich Scalise. Rich was most recently President of Ralcorp Frozen Bakery Products, a division of Ralcorp Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: RAH). Prior to Ralcorp, Rich spent 18 years with ConAgra Foods (NYSE: CAG) in a variety of roles, including his last position as President and COO of ConAgra’s $3 billion Refrigerated Foods Division.
